Cost of Care
We often get asked about why we do not take insurance. At Clarity we made that tough decision with you in mind. While this is a bit of a read, we wanted to take the time to give you a little insight into the thoughts behind this decision.
At Clarity we truly want to put you first. You are not a number to us, you are a person. By forgoing insurance, we are able to spend more time with you. Aside from helping us develop the personal connection, which is important in this field of medicine, it also allows us the opportunity to truly take the time and go over treatment options and possible treatment plans with you.
At Clarity Mental Health, we also want the freedom to treat you how we feel is best for your unique scenario. While it is against the law for insurance companies to dictate patient treatment, that does not mean that they do not have ways to subvert this mandate. By removing the insurance companies from the equation, we expand the options available to you as the patient.
At the end of the day, we also realize that all of this sounds nice, but there is still a cost-factor involved. That is why we spent a long time developing our treatment price-points to keep things fair to you as the patient, and ensure that we are able to function as a business. We tried our best to keep our business model as close to other self-care activities, such as golf, hair appointments, manicures, and pedicures as possible. We understand the value that these activities can have on your mental health as well and want to be sure that you are not having to choose between one of these self care activities and your mental health.
And please remember, that while initial treatment may mean close follow-ups to ensure stability and to follow your progress as we try new medications, once stability is established, follow-up appointments can be spaced out. We believe it is important to maintain contact as things can change and medications can lose effectiveness, but the monthly follow-ups required by other clinics in our area is not necessarily something that we feel all patients need**.
** Patients on controlled substances will require closer monitoring in accordance with DEA regulations and safe clinical practice guidelines.
